On Sunday May 10th Julie Pizzey the Administrator for Home-Start Bracknell Forest took part in the Bracknell Half Marathon. Running on behalf of Home-Start Bracknell Forest, Julie has raised over £600 for their cause and finished the race in a great time of just under 1 hour 55 minutes.

The race started from South Hill Park Arts Centre and took in many areas of Bracknell through Wildridings to Warfield and along footpaths and under bridges. The weather on the day was dull to start but with moments of sunshine, the conditions were perfect for the hundreds of runners that took part.

Julie started working for Home-Start Bracknell Forest in January 2015 and has been running for over 10 years, last year completing the London Marathon and raising over £1000 for the Wokingham Foodbank.

Tessa Dove the Scheme Organiser for Home-Start Bracknell Forest said ‘Everyone at Home-Start Bracknell Forest would like to congratulate Julie on her achievement and say a huge thank you to her for being our first ever runner in the Bracknell Half. It was good to see some of our friends and supporters along the route to cheer her on!’
